CFM International and BOC Aviation Limited have finalized a firm order for up to 300 LEAP engines, comprising 200 LEAP-1A engines and 100 LEAP-1B engines. The engines will power Airbus A320neo family and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft previously ordered by BOC Aviation.
The agreement represents the largest engine transaction in BOC Aviation’s history and will support the Singapore-based aircraft leasing company’s fleet growth over the coming years.
CFM engines have powered part of BOC Aviation’s fleet since 1998. The company placed its first order for LEAP-1A engines in 2013, and LEAP engines currently power more than 240 aircraft within BOC Aviation’s portfolio.
“This is our largest ever engine transaction and it will propel our growth from this decade into the next,” said Steven Townend, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BOC Aviation. He added that the LEAP engine family’s lower fuel-burn characteristics and emissions reductions align with the company’s objective of developing a more environmentally efficient aircraft portfolio.
The latest transaction includes 200 LEAP-1A engines for Airbus A320neo family aircraft and 100 LEAP-1B engines for Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The combination gives BOC Aviation additional propulsion capacity across two of the most widely used narrowbody aircraft families.

The agreement further strengthens CFM International’s relationship with BOC Aviation and expands the number of LEAP-powered aircraft within the lessor’s portfolio.
