Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has reached a significant milestone with more than 400 customer deliveries of its Gulfstream G500 and G600 aircraft, highlighting continued global demand for the two business jets and their combination of performance, technology and operational capability. The 400th delivery was a G600 completed at Gulfstream’s St. Louis facility for a customer in the Asia-Pacific region.
Since entering service, the G500 and G600 fleet has accumulated more than 519,000 flight hours and completed over 200,000 landings worldwide. The aircraft have also recorded more than 190 city-pair speed records, contributing to Gulfstream’s overall total of 815 speed records.
The G600 recently demonstrated its long-range performance with a record-setting flight from Sapporo, Japan, to Savannah, covering 5,835 nautical miles (10,806 kilometres) in 11 hours and 38 minutes at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.88.
Mark Burns, President of Gulfstream, said the 400-delivery milestone demonstrates continued customer confidence in the G500 and G600. He added that the aircraft have supported sustained demand for Gulfstream’s next-generation fleet and contribute to the company’s objective of offering aircraft suited to different mission requirements.
The G500 and G600 introduced Gulfstream’s Symmetry Flight Deck and have received recognition for their interior design, quality and craftsmanship. Both aircraft feature clean-sheet designs and have a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925.
The Gulfstream Cabin Experience incorporates 100 percent fresh air, a plasma ionization air purification system, a low cabin altitude and Gulfstream’s Panoramic Oval Windows. These features are designed to provide passengers with a comfortable cabin environment during long-range flights.
Earlier this year, the G500 and G600 received European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for steep-approach operations. The certification expands the aircraft’s access to airports requiring steep-approach capability, including London City Airport, providing operators with additional flexibility for international business travel.
The milestone also highlights the growing role of large-cabin business aviation in connecting major business centres across regions. With customers operating the aircraft internationally, the G500 and G600 continue to form an important part of Gulfstream’s large-cabin business jet portfolio.
